I’m proud to officially announce my candidacy for the Colorado House of Representatives (District 9) in the 2026 election.
I’m running because I believe Colorado has to do better for working families. We’re living through a time of rising costs, deep inequality, and growing political division. But I really believe in the power of government to lift people up, and in the power of community to shape a better future.
Southeast Denver has been my home for nearly two decades. I moved to House District 9 in 2008 as a full-time grocery store worker and part-time college student, depending almost entirely on public transportation to get around. I earned my degree in political science and government from MSU Denver, and along the way, I served as a district office intern for a member of congress and a legislative intern for a state house member.
In 2014, I worked on the ground as a field organizer during the midterm elections with the Colorado Democratic Party. And for the past ten years, I’ve dedicated myself to public service as a community organizer and policy analyst, working for a local nonprofit to advance health equity, economic justice, and civic engagement.
This campaign is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to housing, healthcare, education, and opportunity—no matter their income, background, or ZIP code. But today, these values are under threat. A far-right movement is sowing division and using fear and intimidation to push people out of the civic space. At the same time, a conservative congressional majority is working to dismantle the very programs—like Medicaid and SNAP—that help families survive.
While Colorado has made progress over the years in advancing fairness and personal freedom, we still face real and urgent challenges. We are in the midst of a worsening housing crisis. Mental health and addiction are rising across our communities. Our criminal justice system remains both cruel and ineffective. Our tax system favors the rich, while working Coloradans shoulder the greatest burden. And our labor laws continue to benefit large corporations at the expense of workers in our state.
We need strong, principled leadership in the state legislature—leadership that listens to everyday Coloradans and fights for justice and equity at every turn. This campaign isn’t just about one election—it’s about building a movement for dignity, fairness, and shared prosperity in southeast Denver, southwest Aurora, and across our state. I’m ready to bring my lived experience, policy knowledge, and organizing background to the Colorado State Capitol—and I look forward to earning your support.
